Star Struck with Bonish Photo : Traveling as much as we do, and loving music almost more than traveling, we tend to visit a few concerts.

Along our travels, we've been able to photograph just a few music icons, movie stars and famous names that we've met along the way.

We thought we'd put together a little gallery of stars we've had the honor of photograhing along the adventure and threw in a few that we were hired to work at while shooting for Bonish Photo

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 2009 - South Dakota : The Sturgis Raly is the Largest Motorcycle rally in the United States and rightly so.

With so many bikers riding from around the country and coming from around the world for this summer bike fest, its a great way to see everything there is to see in teh motorcycle world and with the Black Hills area of South Dakota being so loaded with monumental riding, whether you're here to party with the masses or log some serious miles, you're sure to enjoy yourself.

Cindy and I would like to say a huge Thank You to Jana Thompson of Thompson Photography for helping us out with a place to stay and introducing us to Kym Reis who acted as our tour guide for the week. Without the help of these two generous people, our Sturgis experience wouldnt have been as great as it was.

Bustout Burlesque Show - House of Blues, New Orleans 2009 : While Visiting New Orleans, we made it a point to stop by the House of Blues while the Bustout Burlesque Show was going to be playing.

These beautiful ladies bring you back in time when dancing, music, moves and elequence was all part of getting to the best part, the nudity part. Granted, they dont get fully naked, but leaving a little to the imagination is what makes them all the more beautiful.

It was a great night and one we'll be sure to visit again next time it comes around.

Ice Cube @ The Emerald Theatre - Mt. Clemens Michigan 2008 : Growing up in Michigan, and living in the small suburb of Milford as a child, I was far removed from the gangster lifestyle most rappers rhyme about. None the less, this music struck me as a young adult and I was addicted to it.

Back in High School, my friends and I used to get in trouble for listening to N.W.A. by our parents. The teachers who would hear this aggressive music and almost everyone else who heard us youngsters listening to it thought we were crazy. In our minds, N.W.A. was the number one Gangster Rap group of all time. Most of the other kids in our school would tease us for jamming to this type of music and not conforming to the traditional Rock-N-Roll music everyone else was listening to at that time. We didn’t care, the funky beats and hard core lyrics spoke to us and we couldn’t get enough.

I remember going to Joe Louis Arena at the young age of 14 to see N.W.A. perform. As a young, very white kid from the suburbs of Detroit, to be one of the only Caucasian kids in a sea of real life gangsters, I was in awe. The concert was one of my favorite shows of my entire life and I still compare almost every event to this performance; few have lived up to the energy felt in Joe Louis Arena that night. Black, White, Gangster or Red Neck Farm Kid, the place was bouncing like nothing I've ever felt in my life.

Granted it was the late 80’s and the strength of Gangster Rap was just starting to make its mark on the music scene. This new form of music was starting to take over the air waves and was pushing bands like Run DMC off the charts.

When I heard Ice Cube was coming to Mt. Clemens’, Emerald Theater, I was ecstatic. When N.W.A. was in the height of their career, Ice Cube had broken away from the band to go out on a very lucrative solo career. For the next decade he tore up the West Coast music scene with hardcore albums that all scorched the charts. Then the old school gangster rapper took a break from his music career to follow some acting gigs and has laid low for the last decade.

Not that he stopped producing music; he's churned out solo records every few years, but he hasn’t toured nation wide like he did in his earlier days and nothing as big as when N.W.A. was still together.

Cube recently released a new record, the ninth of his solo career, named Raw Footage on his record label Lench Mob Records and this was the reason he was coming to Detroit. The album debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and the Top Rap Albums Chart and at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

Ice Cube at Emerald Theater!?! I mean this guy could sell out Joe Louis a few times over, so the chance to see him at an intimate theater like the Emerald was too good to be true. I think I was first in line and made sure to bring all my photography gear so I'd have a slue of photos to drool over for the next few years till I got a chance like this again.

Ice Cube opened up with some new tracks off his latest album, but made sure to touch on many of his past hits. He pulled no stops and the crowd, which was packed in so tight you’d think you were looking in a sardine can, was lovin’ every second of it.

With rapper Dub C on stage with him, Ice Cube blew the roof off the Emerald Theater for two full hours busting out hits from his N.W.A. days all the way to brand new stuff like his hit single 'Gangster Rap Made Me Do It' and even threw out a few hits that aren’t even being played on the radio yet.

He made sure to interact with the audience and by the end of the night, the crowd had gotten their moneys worth and then some. I know it brought back fond memories of one of my first concerts and I was just as pumped up after this performance as I was 21 years ago.

Bishop Mule Days - California 2008 : Every year during the Memorial Day Weekend, more than 700 mules compete in 181 events at the Bishop Mule Days Celebration in the Sierra Nevada mountain town of Bishop California. There is no way to actually describe Mule Days as it is part mule show, part test of skills, and part Wild West show.

We spent the weekend surrounded by cowboys & cowgirls, were entertained by country music star Tracey Lawerance, and stayed awed by the beauty of the Sierra Mountains that surrounded this picturesque little town.

Dukesfest - Nashville Tennessee 2007 : While in Nashville for the CMA Fest, we happend to stumble across the Dukesfest going on at the State Fair Grounds.

If you're into Dukes of Hazard or anything involved with the classic show, this event is for you.

The lovely people at the track were organized and professional and Dukesfest included a tribute to Waylon Jennings (even displaying his General Lee). John Schneider screened "Collier and Co" and offered it at the event for the first time ever on DVD.

Big Time Wrestling and Cale Yarborough joined in the fun and James Best (Rosco P.Coltrane) publically displayed and sold his "Impressions of Hazzard" art collection for the first time. To wrap things up Ben Jones officially passed the torch to John Schneider onstage and things came full circle for Dukesfest!
